Over a year ago I took a weekly class at the Shemer Art Center "Introduction to Watercolor".  We experimented with a variety of techniques and had fun with our enthusiastic instructor, John Erwin.

I especially liked this little line up of peppers we did. I had it printed as cards and then on fabric. That got me going on a whole series of fruits...strawberries, citrus, kiwi & star fruit and pears.  (Check out my Textiles and Note Cards)

When a friend, also a painter, saw it hanging in our kitchen, she said   "Oh, I see you took John's class."   So it is one of many peppers across the valley.

In the last few weeks I decided to was time to revisit the idea...my painting table has been spread with all sorts of apples, onions and heirloom tomatoes.  I thought I might make an apple pie from such a good selection of apples and paint that too, but I ate them before I got around to it. :-)
So as soon as I get these ready to go -- photography through printing -- there will be more edibles both sweet and savory as cards, textiles and prints! Bon appetit!

    Along the way....

When I first decided to create a website, I thought of it as a virtual catalog to "get my work out there".  Then I picked up a copy of Austin Kleon's Show Your Work. He so clearly states my sense of how we are a community of creatives who benefit from sharing our process and work; I decided it makes sense to blog and share mine. Enjoy.
